Municipal Waste: The art of partying

Are you tired of half-assed bands claiming to be “thrash” or neo/proto/frodo “metal”? Are you nostalgic, longing for the days of Anthrax, Forbidden, Dark Angel and Exumer? Look no furthuer, younglings…Municipal Waste is the fucking shit.
Seriously, this band sounds like something straight out of the eighties (the better part of that decade, mind you), and their first album was released just around the corner, in 2003. After that, they unleashed the fucking awesome kick in the balls called “Hazardous Mutation”, which was when I first heard of the group, and fuck me in the ass and call me Sally, they are back and better than ever!
The style at hand here is vicious crossover thrash metal, the perfect blend of Bay Area speed with ballsy hardcore. If you want references, I’ll just say one: D.R.I.
Everything here is tight as a virgin’s cunt, as a 10 year old boy’s asshole, as a chicken’s…er, chicken thing. And the drumming is courtesy of none other than Dave Witte of Agoraphobic Nosebleed fame. That means non-stop brutality, for all you non-initiated.
If only other bands could capture the spirit of an era and make it their own without sounding lame or like plagiarism. I’ll repeat what I said in the beginning. Municipal Waste is the fucking shit. Do yourself a favor and check out “The Art of Partying” right now.
The Cover: Awesome fucking cover, zombie headbangers puking in a pool party because of a nuke keg. Cool as hell.
